01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Occupying the first floor of the Spiral cultural complex along Aoyama-dori, Spiral Café is an open-plan café-restaurant marked by high ceilings that overlook the art gallery space. Its generous floor seats around 100 in an atmosphere shaped by subdued lighting and calm tones, comfortably accommodating everything from a post-exhibition rest to sit-down meals and casual meetings.

Substantial Lunches and Pasta Selections

The lunchtime lineup ranges from hearty specialties designed for a full meal to easygoing pasta plates. Among the most popular staples, the flaxseed-fed beef and duck hamburg steak comes paired with multigrain rice and a house demi-glace infused with red wine, highlighting the deep, savory character of the meat. Other choices adapt easily to the day's mood, including a shrimp and greens puttanesca, a weekday sausage-and-eggplant Neapolitan spaghetti, and a whole-wheat croque-monsieur toasted with salami and garden vegetables.

Pot-Brewed Teas and Thoughtful House Desserts

Tea service brings a fragrant selection served by the pot, from single-origin Darjeeling and Ceylon to flavored blends like bergamot Earl Grey and white peach, as well as floral herbal infusions. The sweets showcase seasonal produce in house-baked cakes—including a baked cheesecake layered with caramelized apple and Camembert, a pear compote and mascarpone tiramisu, and an airy egg-white strawberry roll cake—which can also be enjoyed as a post-lunch set.

Evenings with Wine and Tapas

Into the evening, the lights soften further as the café transitions to dinner, inviting guests to linger over craft beer, wine, or fruit-based craft sours. The evening menu serves small plates such as duck-and-cannellini cassoulet-style stew or pan-seared pâté de campagne alongside grilled brand-pork loin and structured course menus, making the venue a dependable anchor during an Omotesando outing, whether for a quick post-shopping glass or an unhurried dinner.
